A few weeks ago we finally started a home improvement project we have been talking about for years; Finishing and reorganizing the Squirrels Nest {aka: attic}. In case you were wondering about the name, the "Squirrels Nest" is the name of one of my favorite rooms in my sorority and it seemed fitting so naturally I named it that. Miss E was really little then but years later she went to the same college as we did and became a member of the same sorority and loved the Squirrels Nest too.
When the hubs built the 2 story addition to the end of our house many years ago he finished the attic space so that we could use it for storage however it ended up primarily a playroom. He laid carpet, installed lights and added shelves for books and storage. It was great and the kids loved it but they grew up and now it is time to sort through the toys and reorganize the space.
First we had to remove everything which was a job in itself. He moved it all to one of the spare empty bedrooms, which he just finished painting, and we have slowly started sorting through it.
In the meantime, the hubs has been working in the Squirrels Nest everyday and the project is moving along. He is a man with a plan and he moves fast.
He textured the walls yesterday however they were still drying last night so once it is dry I will update the progress.
