Penguin appetizers

Two years ago I was sitting with a friend at a high school basketball game and she showed me a picture on her phone of some adorable penguin appetizers she had made. I made a mental note and finally, after all this time, got around to making some myself. I think they turned out pretty cute.

DIY built~in Cabinets {part 2}

The DIY built~in cabinets are almost finished.
I was able to get a picture on Saturday of the new cabinets which I must say look great.
The guys did an amazing job!
As you can see the doors and drawer fronts have not been painted yet. It has been too cold in the workshop {garage} to apply the paint however I think now that our weather is back to normal the painting will be done soon and then I can get a picture of the completed project.

SNOWMAN appetizer

This cold, snowy weather reminded me of an adorable Snowman Appetizer I had seen at a holiday party last December so I decided to try making one myself to take to a  Christmas party we went to last weekend.
He is made out of two different types of cheese balls covered with whipped cream cheese. I decorated him with dried cranberries, rosemary, celery, red pepper, raisins and a carrot for his nose.
For a full recipe go to here.

Stay Warm
and have a
Very Merry Monday!

Initiation Brunch {DIY floral gift card}

We recently attended
Miss E's
special
Sorority Initiation Brunch.
The official Alpha Gamma Delta flowers are Red and Buff roses so to celebrate initiation we took Miss E a bouquet which included a personalized DIY floral gift card.
I was in a hurry when I took the pictures so the photos I took of the front of the envelope didn't turn out very well. I will take some new pictures once she brings the card home and then I will get those posted.

Happy Happy Friday!

Squirrels 'n Pearls {ginger snap cookies}

I made these ginger snap Squirrels 'n Pearls for a sorority themed care package for our daughter who is a freshman in college. I only used half of the cookie dough to make Squirrels though so that I could use the other half to make traditional ginger snap cookies to take to our youngest son who is a senior at the same university.

Pumpkin Desserts {for the office}

Tuesday night I baked 2 Pumpkin Pies
and
24 mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes with Gingersnap crusts
The pies were for an office Thanksgiving potluck on Wednesday

and I made the mini pumpkin cheesecakes with gingersnap crusts for dessert at home
however...
one of our boys came over for dinner on Tuesday night and after dessert asked if he could take some of the mini pumpkin cheesecakes to share with co~workers at his office
{of course I said yes}
so most of those were gone the same evening.

Time for more baking!

Salted Caramel Sauce {homemade}

Just popping in to share my new favorite topping!
I recently made a Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake and decided to make some Salted Caramel Sauce to drizzle over the top. We loved it and since I only  used a smidgen for the cake I  have been able to try it on other things such as cheesecake, ice~cream and pie.
 It makes a perfect dipping sauce for apple slices too!
I think it makes everything taste a little bit better
but then again
I love sweets!

Have a wonderful day!
