BOO Basket {college care package}

Last weekend was the beginning of mid~terms so I put together this Halloween themed care package for our college freshman. 

The cute spider web basket is lined with spider web tissue paper and contains:

• 1 package of spider webbing with plastic spiders {for decorating the dorm room}
• glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets
• several packages of hand warmers
• instant Hot Apple Cider
• Apple Spice Tea
• two packages of Wrigley's 5 Rain & Cobalt gum
• 2 bags of homemade caramel corn
• pumpkin napkins

The OWL treat box {shown above} actually  became a separate little gift since the spider web basket wasn't quite big enough to hold everything.

I put together some college care packages this week and this is one of the fun little fall projects I made. These cute OWLS are actually boxes which I filled with candy for our college students. I used velcro as the closure and attached a note on the back.

Mexican Rice

Happy October!

It's hard to believe it's almost the middle of the month already.

It has been a busy fall so far which has meant quick dinners most nights. Earlier in the week we planned on having some homemade Tamales for dinner {go here for Tamale Making Party details} so I decided to try making some Mexican Rice to go with them. It was such a hit I thought I would post my recipe. ~ Enjoy!!
