Easter prep

A beautiful, busy day before Easter!
My "not so perfect" stenciled Easter eggs.
(I mistakenly used my dry erase contact paper instead of my vinyl...bummer.)
I still think they're pretty cute.
Next year they'll be perfect,
I hope.
Good Friday

Vintage Easter Eggs

I made some of the vintage eggs with pages out of old hymnals from my childhood church which was also the church we were married in. For the other eggs I used old sewing patterns that were used by my mother to make clothes for my sisters and me when we were little and patterns I used to make clothes for my children when they were younger which makes these eggs...
Eggstra special!

heirloom Easter eggs

Happy Monday!
After a fun April Fools Day post yesterday I am back to sharing my handmade Easter Eggs. These eggs were my first attempt at smocking and I love how they turned out. This was a great way to practice smocking before taking on bigger projects. To see more of my handmade Easter Eggs go

a touch of spring

I have always loved bird nests and when I found this old abandon nest in our yard a few years ago I put it on our porch in an old farmers crate to be enjoyed by all that come to our door. This week I had a new idea. I thought I would try displaying it in an Apothecary Jar as a springtime arrangement in the house. I haven't decided yet if I like the nest better by itself or with a few eggs but either way it definitely adds a touch of spring.

speaking of Wool...

Working on these adorable felted wool Easter Eggs which I started a few years ago while on vacation but when I got home I put them away and unfortunately forgot about them. Time to finish them up and get them in a basket.
