May Day 2025

Our May flowers are beginning to bloom.
And.....the birds were out and about last night.
They serenaded us from the trees as we sat at our fire pit enjoying the warmth of the fire.
We watched as they chased each other from tree to tree.
As well as, catching insects in flight, which is fascinating.
Summer is just around the corner. It will be here before we know it!

Happy Saturday!

Quinoa Salad

Isn't this a pretty salad?
Delicious too!
And made with love by Miss E which makes it the best!!

Our little cook found a quinoa salad recipe over the weekend that she wanted to try and decided to make it yesterday after school. We had it with our dinner last night and she also used some as filling in her wrap for lunch today. So many different ways to enjoy this nutritious salad. I'll have to get the recipe from her so I can share it.

A nice,  light salad for Spring!

signs of spring

things I am thankful for today:
walks with my children, even when it's raining
raindrops on flowers
blustery days
laughter in the kitchen
giving and getting haircuts
signs of spring

a touch of spring

I have always loved bird nests and when I found this old abandon nest in our yard a few years ago I put it on our porch in an old farmers crate to be enjoyed by all that come to our door. This week I had a new idea. I thought I would try displaying it in an Apothecary Jar as a springtime arrangement in the house. I haven't decided yet if I like the nest better by itself or with a few eggs but either way it definitely adds a touch of spring.

fabulous flowers

As I walked out on our front porch early one morning last week I immediately noticed our spring flowers which were, at that moment, adorned with a sprinkle of twinkling water droplets. Some of the glassy jewels were lined up in perfect rows on stems and leaves while others appeared as if they had been randomly tossed onto the surface, each drop seemingly attached in its place.
Such a beautiful sight!

Also,
in case you missed it,
this was our sunset last night.
Absolutely amazing!
