DENALI road signs

The signs along this road were a hoot.
Every corner up the hill had a different warning.
There was no traffic so plenty of time to take some pictures.
Timing is everything!
It is doubtful that a car could go any faster than 13 MPH on this curvy gravel road.
But, always best to remind the tourists.
The bears are everywhere. Even on curvy roads in the hills like this one.
This sign is actually not too far fetched. We did spot various flying objects in the sky.
It is a slow drive to the top.
But, the view was amazing once we got there.
Moose are definitely a possibility!
They appear to be everywhere.
Another fun sign along the way.
By this time we felt like we were at the top of the world.
The mountains were breathtaking and the signs on the drive up made us laugh. Hope you enjoy them too!

Happy Friday!

Pasta Making Party

Our kids came over for Sunday Supper and we made our first RAVIOLI together.
What a fun family activity!
They brought their pasta press attachment and the rest is history!! Haha!
Our kids made up the pasta dough ahead so it was ready to press when they arrived.
It was so much fun learning how to use the attachment. The sheets of pasta dough came out perfect. At least, we thought so.
Once all of the dough was processed it was time to make the Raviolis.
We filled the individual Ravioli’s with a wonderful fresh sausage filling that they made.
Then, in the pot they went!
In the meantime, our favorite middle son was making the sauce.
It smelled so good and tasted great!
Homemade bread was my job so I made a couple rustic loaves to go with our pasta.
Some stuffed olives for appetizers.
A tossed green salad and our meal was complete.
And of course…dessert!
A sweet ending to a delicious meal

Happy Thursday!

"MOOSE" card

We MOOSE our youngest son and his girlfriend so much that we went to Alaska to see them. They will not be there much longer so we wanted visit them one more time before they move.
The week before we departed I made a little thank you card to take.
A MOOSE themed card seemed like fun.
It is not every day that you get to see real "moose"...
...OR
 make "moose" themed cards!
Needless to say, I did not have any moose paper or craft supplies so I decided to draw a moose instead. Once the moose was finished I free~hand cut a simple pine tree for the side and paper punched some tags. Of course it required a lot of hearts and a big "hugs and kisses" stamp!
It was hard to decide on what words to use for the front however it all came together right before we departed. I love when a plan comes together!

Happy Monday!

GONE FISHING ~ sugar cookies

The hubs went shad fishing yesterday with our neighbor and kids who are grade school age. This was their first time fishing so the hubs was along to teach them what he knows, as he is a lifelong fisherman. He asked me if I would make some cookies for him to take and of course I was excited to do it.
It just so happens that I have a “FISH” cookie cutter which was perfect for a batch of sugar cookies however I did not have time to frost them as the request was made just a few hours before they were leaving. So, in lieu of frosting, I stamped them instead.
To make them even cuter I used a mini chocolate chip for the eye and sprinkles in the “O’s”. I also made a small hole for the mouth and strung the fish up with ribbon.
With the extra cookie dough I made rectangle stamped cookies to coordinate with the theme.
To finish them off I painted on a few details with a food coloring mixture and my food safe paint brush. Needless to say, no two fish were alike. Thankfully they were finished and ready to go in the nick of time.
The cookies were a hit and SO WAS FISHING.
They caught their “first” fish plus 9 others…wow!
It was a FUN day!

Happy Saturday!

DIY Zipper Bracelets / Fidget Toys

These fun Zipper Bracelets were a quick and easy weekend project.
They have been a great and unique toy to give to kids at school when they are anxious, stressed or in need of a distraction. Not only can they be worn on the wrist but you can wear multiple bracelets together. Another fun feature is to make some into a chain and/or clip it on a backpack or purse. So many options.
The bright colors are fun to mix and match and they are quick and easy to make.
Fidget bracelets can also be made to fit any size of wrist which is great and makes them very versatile. The clips and zippers can also be mixed and matched making each one unique.
It has been nice to have a variety of them to have on hand.
I made some in school colors and even made a few in favorite Team Colors which will be great for game day. You can be sure one will be on my wrist!!
These fidget bracelets were so quick to make and even more fun to give away!

Have a Happy Monday!
