more....50 and Fabulous! ~ Tropical Birthday Party ....................{ DIY Birthday CROWN }....................

I thought the Birthday Girl needed a special CROWN to wear for her BIG "FIVE~O" party so I made her one that coordinated with our theme. I used the same gold glitter paper I used for the pillow box and tags on the chocolates & champagne PINEAPPLE centerpiece and used the words from the napkin to make my graphic for the medallion. I also used the graphic on the tag and to make a sign which I will post this weekend.

Happy Friday!

..... DIY chocolates & champagne PINEAPPLE ..... { 50 and Fabulous ~ Tropical Birthday Party }

Our family loves pineapples, especially the Birthday Girl, so I made this festive
chocolates & champagne PINEAPPLE
which we used as the centerpiece on the party table and then gave to her as a gift.
I also made the "crown" and "A" tags that are tied on the bottle and a matching pillow box which held another small gift.
A very fun Tropical Birthday Party decoration/gift for our
50 and Fabulous Sister!

Tropical Cupcakes { 50 and Fabulous! ~ Tropical Birthday Party }

My sister and I hosted a fun 50 and Fabulous ~ Tropical Birthday Party over the weekend for our  sister who just turned "50". I offered to make dessert and decided we needed some
Tropical Cupcakes.
My original plan was to place a dried pineapple flower on top of each Tropical { pineapple, coconut, rum } cupcake. Unfortunately the flowers did not get completely dried out in time so I covered the cupcakes in pearls instead!  I hope to have the recipe for these cupcakes posted soon along with more about our Tropical Birthday Party.

Have a marvelous Monday!

a couple more projects from February { a hundred hearts...quilt & printable }

 It is hard to believe it is the middle of March already! The last couple weeks I have been focused on party planning { more on that later } and spring projects but I am also still working on this fun Heart Quilt that I started in February. It takes 89 heart squares for the top so I have been sewing squares whenever I have a little free time. Since I love the quote I used on my Heart Pillow I decided to add an extra 11 heart squares to the back of the quilt so that I end up with
a hundred HEARTS
for my little quilt.
♥ ♥ ♥
I also had fun with my paper hearts last month and thought I would post this printable I made from one of the pictures I took. These simple hearts are made with scraps of decorative glitter paper that I cut into strips, folded in the middle and then glued together on the ends. I used my hearts as vase filler, a banner, and a wreath and also made this printable with one of my photos which I reduced to a 5x7 and framed.

Have a Wonderful Saturday!

{ homemade } Pizza Night

Saturday night we made homemade pizza for dinner.
I made the sauce earlier in the week which I put in the freezer. Late Saturday afternoon I made the pizza dough just before leaving to run errands so that way it would have time to rise and then be ready to go when we returned. Once we were ready to make our pizzas it was all hands on deck. The guys helped choose and prepare the toppings while I warmed up the sauce, cooked the sausage and put the crust on the pans. We had our two pizzas ready for the oven in no time.

We love { homemade } Pizza Night!

This week we have been enjoying cookies
made by Miss E!
She was home for a visit last weekend and wanted to make some cookies to take back to her friends at college so we had a baking day. She make two kinds of cookies and was able to get all of them baked and packaged before she had to leave
and even left a bunch here for us...
how wonderful is that?!

Banana ~ Sour Cream Coffee Cake

To my surprise not everyone loves banana bread the way our family does and I discovered that there are those among us that do not have an alternative recipe for those extra ripe bananas...UNTIL NOW
I served this wonderful Banana ~ Sour Cream Coffee Cake a few Saturdays ago to some extra special guests and had no idea it might become the new go~to recipe for their over ripe bananas.  If having second servings was any indication of how much they liked this coffee cake then I am sure they will be buying extra bananas from now on.
I hope you enjoy this
Banana~Sour Cream Coffee Cake
as much as we do.

Happy 1st Day of MARCH!!
