Birthday Cake Cookies

It happened again. 

I ran out of cookies! 

So what's a girl to do?

Make more cookies of course!

This time birthday cake sprinkle cookies . . . YUM!

P.S. ~ Our cute bunny stopped by while I was making cookies. It is not actually ours but it does stop by regularly which I enjoy.

However, Mr. McGregor (aka: the hubs) is not as fond 

of the bunny as I am, as he tends to nibble 

in our garden. Nevertheless, I like to think of it as a 

compliment to the gardener. Either way, he was back 

and thankfully had no interest in the garden 

this time. Just cute as can be. However. . . .I suppose 

if he nibbled on my cookies 

I might feel the same way as the hubs.

Another Day Another Adventure

A hike with E&W last weekend at Silver Falls State Park.

We were on the trail by 9:45am. 

There were very few people there at that time so we had great 

views and could go at our own pace which was so nice. 

We spotted the sweetest little birds nest

nestled in the rock under the first waterfall. 

What a fun surprise. 

We followed The Trail of Ten Falls and they all were amazing!!

Some of the trails took us behind the falls.

It was a bit cloudy however the rain held off until the very end of our hike as we were heading back to the car. The weather and temperature were actually perfect for this hike and we managed to see all ten falls. SUCCESS!!

Once we got on the road, the clouds finally disappeared 

and the sun came out for the rest of the day! 

Perfect Timing!

Penne Alla Vodka

Miss E. cooked dinner Sunday night.

This was the first time I had ever had Penne Alla Vodka and it was so good! Creamy, spicy and great with a fresh tossed salad.

Winner, Winner, Pasta Dinner!

Oh what a beautiful day at the Oregon Coast!

We stopped by Shively Park on our way through, located in central Astoria, and took a look around. Named after John M, Shively, the 12 acre site was officially dedicated on July 4, 1906. Today the park serves as a green space offering community halls, walking trails, and sweeping views of the Columbia River.

Next:  Lunch at Uniontown, Bridgewater Bistro

From our table we could see in the distance, Cannery Pier,

Hotel & Spa

Then off to sunny Seaside for a day at the beach.

No shoes, no coat, no wind . . . PERFECT!!

And of course, our trip to the beach would not be complete

without some Saltwater Taffy. . .YUM!

DIY Bathroom Makeover: Tiling Almost Complete!

Here is the latest and greatest from the Master Bathroom Makeover.

Mr. Wonderful was busy this week putting up more tile. He is nearly finished which is nice.

The next step will be the grout, however,

 he took a day off from the bathroom project to go fishing, which was a 

fun break. They also caught some fish which made it even better!

Our bathroom is taking shape and hopefully it will be 

operational in the near future. More details to come!

Strawberries :: Homegrown Edition

A backyard full of strawberries is a heart full of summer! 

And our hearts are bursting 

as we discovered our strawberries this year 

have started out strong.

Between wet weather, our busy schedules and our master bathroom project we had not noticed how many strawberries we have this year. We couldn't be happier.

Nature’s candy, no wrapper needed.

When life gives you strawberries, don’t make jam

—eat them straight from the vine!

Making Progress on Bathroom Tile

The Wall Tile is looking good!! 

Once Mr. Wonderful got in a rhythm it began to go faster.

He is making headway which is encouraging.

It won't be long until the next step in the process.

For now, we are enjoying the new look as it wraps around the room... 

. . . and excited to see the tiling when it is finished which should not be too much longer!
