DIY Master Bathroom Update :: Mirrors & DIY Toilet Room Arch

It has been a busy month so far with school training, meetings and set-up. It is hard to believe Fall 🍂 is just around the corner.
However, the hubs bathroom project continues to move closer to the finish line. We decided to replace the very large vanity mirror with two smaller mirrors for a more updated look.
It was very hard to decide what style to choose so for now they are simple beveled edge mirrors.
In the future, if I can find a mirror style I like
it will be easy to switch them out.
In the meantime, these will be great and we can move on to deciding on a paint color for the wall.
While we were deciding on mirrors, Mr. Wonderful started working on the DIY arched entry to the toilet room.
This was the first one he has ever made so after some trial, error, templates, fittings and adjustments,
the learning curve produced the perfect fit!
We love it and it is now ready for some paint.
But that is not all, oh no, that is not all!
He is currently building the cabinet that will be installed above the toilet. It will be great for storage and give the room a more finished look. In the meantime, he is finishing the top of the backsplash while working on the cabinet and my job is to choose light fixtures which is easier said than done.
I shall be back soon with more updates!

Harvest Time

Our Apples and Pears were beginning to fall so it was time to pick the trees.
The Apples are big and plentiful this year.
Most of the Pears are extra large and not many flaws
Since both were big beginning to drop it was time to pick to avoid bruises.
Great year for our fruit trees!

Master Bath Update

Our DIY Master Bathroom Update is coming along!
The counter top was installed a few days ago! We still need to make the final decision on the sink fixtures which should be soon.
In the meantime,  Mr. Wonderful is working on a small backsplash. It matches the tile in the cubbies in the shower area which ties it all together.
He also installed small pocket lights along the soffit for a warm, ambient glow above the open shower and tub, setting the mood for relaxation and a long soak. The photos only show one so I will post a better picture soon. Our Master Bathroom Makeover project is coming along. Only a few decisions left to make as we get closer to completion.
Happy Monday!

Project Detour

It has been a while since my last post due to technical difficulties however it looks like things are good to go!
There is a lot to catch up on so lots of posts ahead. One of the recent projects was our built-in patio bar. The original plan was to tile the floor in front of the bar however, when we tiled the patio on the other side we ran short on time and the backside did not get finished. It had a cement pad but no tile.
Well,, that has now been finished!
The hubs has been working hard on our indoor  projects and had a little time in-between to get the outside bar floor finished.
It looks so much better now.
In the next couple days he plans on finishing the edge of the pond with tile as well. Then he can check that off the list too!

Happy Saturday!

DIY Master Bathroom Update

A quick look at the progress in our Master Bathrooom.
These are the niches in progress
The lighting is always changing due to the weather so the color of the photos comes out  somewhat different each time however it is close and shows the big changes.
The shelves in the niches have been installed so the trim and tile can be added to finished the inside.

The top is the right niche and the bottom is the left as the picture shows above.
More updates are sure to be coming again soon!

Happy Thursday!

Bakery Style BUTTERFINGER COOKIES

Today was a cool, mostly cloudy summer day with just a few sprinkles
so a great day to bake!
The timing was perfect as our cookie supply was getting low so even more reason to make a fun, new batch. And, I had some candy on hand, which made the decision of what type to make even easier!
Once the Butterfinger cookies were in the oven I decided to cut out some sugar cookies from leftover cookie dough I had saved in the refrigerator. There was even enough leftover chocolate drizzle to decorate the top these cute little cookies with a simple design to make them a bit more special.
Our stock of sweet treats is now looking good and
should get us through the weekend
and hopefully even a little longer.

Happy Thursday!

Italian Dinner

Summer calls for quick and easy dinners.
Homemade bread along with a fresh tossed salad and . . .
. . .  spaghetti with homemade sauce hit the spot!
A quick and tasty summer dinner,
just how we like it!

Happy Wednesday!
