Birthday Cake Cookies

It happened again. 

I ran out of cookies! 

So what's a girl to do?

Make more cookies of course!

This time birthday cake sprinkle cookies . . . YUM!

P.S. ~ Our cute bunny stopped by while I was making cookies. It is not actually ours but it does stop by regularly which I enjoy.

However, Mr. McGregor (aka: the hubs) is not as fond 

of the bunny as I am, as he tends to nibble 

in our garden. Nevertheless, I like to think of it as a 

compliment to the gardener. Either way, he was back 

and thankfully had no interest in the garden 

this time. Just cute as can be. However. . . .I suppose 

if he nibbled on my cookies 

I might feel the same way as the hubs.

Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies

Craving Chocolate Chip Cookies, bakery style!

So, I made batch and made them bigger and thicker than usual.

They did not disappoint!

The bigger the better...YUM!

Happiness is a CAKE you can wear as a CROWN

Every time I bake, I realize that life is too short for small cakes. 

However, baking cakes in all sizes seems to cover all the bases when it comes to sharing.

A cake for home.

With whipped cream bling, 

of course! (It makes me happy!!)

And, always some cake for my team/friends at school 

because a bundt cake is just love sculpted into edible geometry.

Right?! 😉

There are three sizes of bundt cakes this time,

but only one way to devour them . . .

. . . without hesitation! 

When in doubt, bake a bundt!!

Newsday Tuesday

Popping in with a "catch up" post! 

Lots of backyard projects, however, the biggest one is the firepit update. 

All the stones above and below the bench are now attached. 

One had fallen off but it is back in place and secure. It is now time to finish the corners and top but the hard part is deciding the best way to arrange the stones to finish those edges.  

Meanwhile, we have had company! 

Our youngest son and his wife were here for a visit which was so much fun.

One night we grilled a family favorite . . . SMASH BURGERS.

YUM!

 Mr. Wonderful grilled the patties while the kids grilled the onions their special way. Everything was cooked to perfection! 

And, to top it all off, the kids made a tasty batch of 

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies. 

SO GOOD!! ♥

Onions and Salad and Pie….Oh MY!

Busy summer day in the kitchen.

It is so nice to have everything, or at least most everything, made ahead for dinner.

The pears are beginning to ripen slowly but surely and there were just enough to make two pear pies this morning.

One for us and one to give away! 

It will not be long before it will be time to start canning.

Once the cooking was finished it was time for a break and then surprise our friends with a pie!
