Hi there, I'm
Jennifer, a small town girl living in the big city. I have been married to my best friend and high school sweetheart for 30+ years and we are the proud parents of four amazing children, three boys and a girl, each one an incredible blessing. It's hard to believe they are all adults now, which means, my husband and I find ourselves quickly approaching the empty nest
season of life.
Besides being a very happy homemaker I also enjoy volunteering, party planning, event styling, sewing, quilting, photography, scrapbooking, designing, graphic art, painting, and multimedia and altered art as well as cooking, baking, canning, food drying and meal planning. In addition, my husband and I like DIY projects of all kinds which I will share here on my web journal along with other things I am doing, creating, planning.
So what is a Grand Surprise? It began as a
made-up childhood game of gift giving that I played with my two sisters growing up. We gave the gesture of giving each other our toys and trinkets a fancy name which made every Surprise special no matter
how big or small or "well loved" it was. It was a "gift" and that
alone made it Grand. Even now when we give each other unexpected gifts we affectionately call them Grand Surprises.
