Farmhouse Tea { annual mother ~ daughter tea party }

Last Saturday was our annual mother ~ daughter tea party. The Farmhouse theme was very fun and made it easy to gather up decorations.

For the centerpiece I used the rack from my canner to hold canning jars full of flowers. I had originally planned on using baby's breath, however, I sent my farmer to the market to pick up the flowers and ended up with beautiful sunflowers instead. They were perfect!
I have to admit I set the table 3 different times trying to decide what color of tablecloth I wanted to use and in the end I settled on white. I used denim pockets I salvaged from my farmers old worn out jeans as napkin holders and placed a denim square cut from a pair of the jeans under the flowers. To make quick, easy, coordinating napkins I found some red and white checked fabric in my stash, cut it into squares and frayed the edges.
I love these rooster cocktail napkins which were my grandmothers. I thought they would be a perfect little addition for the table, however, they were a bit too small to fit into the  denim pockets so instead I placed one under each blue water goblet.
I also used the Rooster quilt my mother made to drape over the back of the sofa for a little extra decoration in the "tea room".
I will be posting more fun details about our Farmhouse Tea in the next couple days.
Have a great Thursday!

NEW Little Wallet/Tissue Pocket ~ sets { ALPHA GAMMA DELTA rose collection }

I made some new Little Wallets and Tissue Pockets last week. I packaged them in sets, 4 sets in all, to donate to the Alpha Gamma Delta Mom's Weekend Auction which was held last Saturday. The morning started with a lovely brunch at the sorority followed by the live auction. It was a lot of fun.
The pictures of the Little Wallets and Tissue Pockets are not the best due to fact that I took them in the car just before going to the brunch. After I had parked the car and was gathering up the packages to take into the sorority it occurred to me that I had not taken any pictures. I quickly pulled out the Little Wallets and Tissue Pockets, set them on the passenger seat and took 3 pictures, which you see here, and then wrapped them all up again. When I finally looked at my pictures I noticed a little bit of faded printing in the corner of one photo and realized I had put them on top of the Mom's Weekend schedule which actually is nice.

Happy Wednesday!

Russian Easter Bread { Paska / Kulich }

On Monday a friend of mine shared a box full of traditional Russian Easter Bread she had made last weekend for Easter dinner. She said in Russia the bread is called Paska and in the Ukraine it is called Kulich. The loaves are made in recycled soup cans which give them the tall, cylindrical shape. There are raisins inside the sweet bread and the tops are frosted and decorated with a variety of sprinkles. Such a special treat!

Happy Saturday!

white chocolate ~ peanut butter TRUFFLES

You may remember these Truffles from a couple weeks ago. I mentioned them in the GOLF Birthday parTEE post and they were pictured in the corner of one of the photos that featured the TEE BOX Cupcakes.  Since I had a few extra pictures of the WC~PB Truffles I thought it would be fun to post them as well.
Instead of using dark chocolate for my peanut butter Truffles I decided to dip them in white chocolate so they would resemble golf balls for our GOLF Birthday parTEE. They turned out just the way I hoped they would however I ran short on time and didn't end up using them as I had originally intended so served them in a pretty bowl instead.

Have a beautiful Saturday!
