Oreshki { cookies }

These traditional walnut shaped Russian cookies were made by my friend Olga. We had talked about them last week and yesterday she surprised me with a little bag full of Oreshki { nuts } so that I could try them. They are delicious.
These cookies are baked in a mold and then filled with caramel and chopped nuts. They are a perfect cookie to have with a cup of tea.
Such a fun treat!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. What a nice friend you have!! A very fun sweet treat to accompany your tea. Is she able to buy the nuts in the US or does she order them from Russia??

    1. The "nuts" are cookies that are baked in a press similar to a waffle iron which forms them into the walnut shape. After they have been baked they are filled with caramel and chopped walnuts. Yes, the press can be purchased in the US.
