May and June were fun and busy months. This year those months were full of very special events, three to be exact, which were on three different weekends and many miles apart. The schedule included an out of state commencement, the following weekend an out of state wedding followed by a destination honeymoon, and topped off with a wedding reception after the newlyweds returned from their honeymoon. We were on the go, having a great time with family and making precious memories along the way. While the Newlyweds were on their honeymoon we were back home putting the finishing touches on some fun DIY projects for their wedding reception which the Brides parents were hosting in their backyard.
Mr. Wonderful was asked by the Bride & Groom to make some fun signs to put around the yard. He has made signs like these the last several years for our nieces bridal shower and wedding and our middle sons wedding so he had everything he needed to create whatever words or phrases they wanted (plus a surprise or two!).
Their wedding was held at the Olympic National Park so they wanted to have words that went along with their wedding theme and also to help guests navigate their way around and find the fun activities, food and dancing.
Once the list of ideas for the signage was finalized and approved by the Bride and Groom, the rest was up to the hubs. The completed sign was too big to fit in the car, which we knew would be the case, so it had to be transported in parts and assembled when we arrived. The hubs has done this a few times before and knew just what to do to make it work.
The “Build Your Own Trail Mix” table.
This was so cute and such a fun idea! We brought along a few of our chalkboards too, just in case they were needed. The one above has been used quite a bit and worked great.
A photo table, with an assortment of fun props and a QR code for photo sharing.
The gift & card table was under a big, shady tree.
Even a built~in dance floor. Patio by day, dance floor by night!
The sunset during the reception was so amazing…
…that I could not resist a few photos.
It was a fun and memorable weekend with family and friends!
Happy Tuesday!
The party favors and signs were all so very perfect! They added the special touches that made the day so fun and beautiful!
