12 Easy Super Bowl Party Ideas

Are you ready for Super Bowl LIV {54 }?
Ready or not the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet for the Championship Game next weekend so if you are in need of some quick and easy game day party ideas here is a little inspiration for food, favors and decorations.
You can never go wrong with cupcakes and these Hamburger Cupcakes and Sugar Cookie fries are easier to make than they look and definite crowd pleasers.
Classic FootBall Cupcakes are always a winner and if you are in need of some party favors these Paper Football Favors can be made with items on hand such as recycled paper grocery bags and twine. It doesn't get easier than that.
Stamped Sugar Cookies can be personalized however you choose. Option: add a little icing around the edge for an extra special touch.
Better yet, a 2-in1 dessert, Gingerbread Football Cookies on top of Cupcakes. Green Dyed Coconut on on top of the chocolate frosting completes this festive dessert.
Meat and Cheese Football Sandwiches with cream cheese laces make a healthy snack.
No football cookie cutter, No Problem! Try gently squeezing the bottom of a paper cup or the end of a clean, empty can until it bends just enough to resemble a football. Both work well in a pinch.
The paper cup cookie cutter worked well for cutting out the gingerbread cookie footballs however the can has a nice sturdy edge and is more versatile.
It worked perfect for these football sandwiches and ....
the pie crust for these hand pies.
These little Apple Football Hand Pies were fun to make and festive too.
And why not use another recycled can to make a Football Goal post decoration for the table? Just wrap it with brown construction paper and cut a white strip of paper into laces and glue to the side. Use popsicle sticks for the goal posts and styrofoam, dried beans or rocks to hold it steady. Easy Peasy!
I'll TOAST to that!
Our Super Bowl plans are still in the works however I will be making something for the big game and will be sure to share.

Super Bowl recap { chalkboard, cupcakes, DIY cookie cutter }

A couple weeks ago we hosted a last minute NFL Playoff Party. I wanted to decorate and had lots of ideas however there wasn't much time to prepare so to make things simple I went with team colors for the table cloth, paper plates and napkins, all of which I already had on hand, and used my football bowl for chips. I also had just enough time to write on my lazy susan chalkboard for another quick and easy table decoration.
I made FOOTBALL CUPCAKES for the Super Bowl Game.
At the last minute {4 hours before kick~off} I decided I wanted to make some FOOTBALL CUPCAKES for the Super Bowl Party we were going to.  I didn't have a football shaped cookie cutter and since I wanted all the cookies the same shape and size that meant I had to come up with a way to cut uniform cookies and this is what I came up with. The football cookies turned out a little bigger than I wanted but they worked.

SUPER BOWL Party 2015 { football party favors, stamped sugar cookies, cupcakes }

A few weeks ago I was preparing to host a Super Bowl Party and then at the last minute plans changed and we ended up going to our friends house to watch the game. Since I knew that their grandchildren were also going to be there I thought it would be fun to take party favors for the kids so I made some Football Treat Bags over the weekend. The footballs were easy and fun to make however they took a little longer than I expected which put me behind so by the time they were done and all the baking was finished it was literally time to leave. Unfortunately I only had time to snap a few quick pictures before heading out the door and was so disappointed when I discovered on Monday that I only had taken two of the cupcakes and one of the cookies.
The cupcakes were
chocolate with chocolate buttercream frosting
topped with
peanut butter football truffles.
Happy Thursday!

UofO Storm Trooper cake & cupcakes {college grad party}

I made this Storm Trooper cake and cupcakes for a University of Oregon GRAD party on Saturday.  The cake is a double chocolate two layer cake with ganache and raspberry filling and butter cream frosting. The cupcakes are also chocolate and are filled with either ganache or raspberry filling and frosted with buttercream frosting. I also made some matching cupcake picks for the top of the cupcakes. Also, for anyone that may not know, Storm Trooper is the name of the football uniform NIKE made for the DUCKS to wear for their game against USC. Such a FUN theme!

Pumpkin Cupcakes

with
 Acorns and Cream Cheese Frosting
I am thankful for
QT in the Kitchen
with our kids!!
I spent yesterday afternoon making these fun Pumpkin Cupcakes with our teenage daughter and at the same time teaching one of her older brothers, our middle son, how to make my potato salad, which he wanted to take to a friends house where he was having dinner and watching a football game. The cupcakes turned out so cute....I love the acorns!...and the salad looked great, especially with the garnish he put on the top~just like I do! (No photos of the salad since he left before I got to it.)
A fun way to spend a rainy, fall, Saturday.

OSU Tailgater 2013 {weekend recap}

Since last Saturdays football game started at noon we decided that our morning pre~game potluck should be more along the lines of a breakfast menu and save our traditional tailgating food for the post~game. It worked out great, plus, by the time we left we had missed all the traffic heading out of town which was a nice bonus!
Pre~game food:  breakfast burritos {regular & spicy}, breakfast sliders, Einstein's bagels and assorted cream cheese~including pumpkin {YUM}, donut holes, 2~Portland Coffee Cakes, orange chicken {for good luck!}, coffee, OJ, and even some fresh Oregon State Cheese made by college students right on campus!

Post~game food:  BBQ'd chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, cabbage salad, fruit salad, chips and dips, homemade cookies and cupcakes.
Where oh where is Chef BoyarRON's BEAVER Apron????
{I forgot to pack it....bummer!}
 I didn't get as many pictures of the Post~game food since my camera kept getting so wet. Two of our 6 tents collapsed at halftime from the strong wind and heavy non~stop rain, which made it harder to keep dry  inside our "cozy" little tent city after the game.
Another fun Game Day with family & friends!
Go BEAVS!
