Chi Omega
pledge!

banner
{wings are still attached in this photo}

This is a card I designed for our niece/cousin who pledged the Chi Omega sorority a few weeks ago. I wanted to make her a special card that was theme related but also something she could use as a decoration in her dorm room. Sort of a multi~purpose card you might say. With that in mind I created this card which becomes a small banner by simply clipping the wings between the owls. The parts are connected by ribbon that is carefully threaded and tied so that once the wings are cut it will unfold to reveal the ready~to~hang banner with an owl on each side of the greek letters {not shown}. Once I settled on the overall look and figured out the mechanics I made templates, traced and then hand cut all the parts including the custom sized matching envelope. I also added glitter and rhinestones to embellish each component. Next, I composed a short poem to explain how to turn the card into a banner and attached that to the inside left and attached a message on the opposite side. And finally, assembling everything was the last step in making this combination card/banner.

Congrats
to our
new
Chi Omega
pledge!
