These display boards are for the Orphans Overseas Live Auction 

and part of the proceeds support the 

Karibu Centre in Thika, Kenya (below),

a project of Orphans Overseas in partnership with The Salvation Army.

This is my current take-along project which I have been working on mostly at the high school women's basketball games. Since I am there twice a week for all three games (Freshman, JV & Varsity) I try to find time during warm-ups and at half-time to do some stitching. I need a total of 32 hearts to complete the project and I am over halfway so I may actually finish in time for 

Valentines Day!

 I painted the lavender, paper quilted the bottom border and lined the envelope with matching paper to tie it all together.

Yesterday I was so excited to find this heart sealed envelope in our mailbox. Even more exciting....the return address....it was "MOM mail"! The envelope was a bit puffy and a little squishy which piqued my curiosity.  As I walked back to the house I gently squeezed the hidden contents between my fingers trying to guess 

what I might find inside

?????? 

 It didn't take long to discover I had received a
