mixed berry french toast

Last Saturday for breakfast I created this mixed berry french toast. It is hard to tell in the photos but there are actually two pieces of french toast on each plate which are made with slices of Brioche bread dipped in a rich egg batter and grilled until golden brown. A sweet mascarpone filling is spread between the layers of french toast and the top is covered in a warm mixed berry compote with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream. It took a little time to get all the layers prepared but it was completely worth the wait!

  1. I haven't had breakfast yet, and this post is just driving me nuts! Time to head to the kitchen, but our meal won't be anything as wonderful as yours. :-)
