Vintage Paris ~ SORORITY ROOM REVEAL

The Sorority Room Reveal is finally here!

All week I have shared projects Miss E and I worked on for her sorority study room. Today I am ready to show you how it all looked in their room.  

Miss E was chosen to be a room head and was assigned a two person study room which means she was responsible for choosing a theme, getting it approved and then decorating the room. Decorating included curtains for the closets and window, coordinating chair covers, theme related items for the shelves and walls and matching trim for the edge of the shelves. 

Once we moved all her things up to her 3rd floor room we began to decorate.

Her approved room theme was:

The girls decided the curtains over the window looked best without french handwriting so we left them plain however we did fold over the top just like the closet curtains and also used the same paint cloth fabric and clips. 

Miss E is borrowing the Eiffel Tower picture from her cousin who was also a room head and used it in her sorority study room  at U of O last year.

The top of the refrigerator/freezer works perfect for their coffee/tea supplies.

Here is an up close look at the shelves. 

She trimmed all the shelves with pink grosgrain ribbon that matched the pink Initials. She also included some adorable squirrels around the room since 

the squirrel 

is the 

Alpha Gamma Delta 

mascot.

It actually came with a plain white barrel lamp shade but we thought it would be fun to look for something that went more with the room theme and found this beautiful french shade. 

We also found this perfect finial for the top.

The desks are pretty small so to make the surface larger I had a piece of  thick plastic cut to fit the space between the closet and the wall and then pulled the desk forward until it was even with the closet. This made more room on the desk top and prevents things from falling off the back and sides of the desk. 

Since the desks are also quite old the tops are inevitably showing signs of use and age. To cover up the well loved desk top I found some great french tissue paper which we placed on top before putting down the plastic. We really like how it looks and it ties in great with the rest of the room. Miss E plans on putting some fun pictures underneath as well. 

The original plan was to hang the Bonjour Acorn sign on the door until we found out that matching name signs had already been made for every study room door. Miss E decided to hang the Bonjour Acorns on the wall beside her desk instead to balance out the Eiffel Tower picture next to her roommates desk.

We only forgot a couple things on move in day but the most important one was the iron so we were not able to press things before I left or when I took pictures. 

I had to leave the job of ironing up to the girls.
