Last Sunday afternoon we attended a beautiful wedding which was held at a private farm out in the country. The special alter that sat in front of the sweet little church was built by the Father of the Bride. The benches were made out of logs and covered in burlap and canning jars full of flowers lined the aisle.
The barn served as the reception area and gathering place for socializing and relief from the heat as well as drinks, appetizers and dessert. An assortment of self~serve cupcakes were placed on shelves supported on the rungs between two ladders and a chandelier made with wine glasses hung from the rafters. There was a beverage bar, also made by the Father of the Bride, and behind the bar wine glasses hung from twisted twine. Bales of hay made a perfect back drop for a fun photo booth. { Unfortunately I did not get any pictures inside the barn. }
Behind the barn tents were waiting around the yard to provide shade to guests on a day that was pushing triple digit temperatures. More photo props could be found about the wedding area including french doors and a window attached to a rustic wooden arch which was again made by the Father of the Bride. An outdoor game area was available for kids and kids at heart.
A variety of cold, refreshing beverages were served in canning jars and programs made into personal fans were handed out to help ward off the heat.
In another area picnic tables were set for dinner with burlap, lace and wooden charger centerpieces and a dance floor was tucked in the middle, framed by an open canopy decorated with lights and tulle loosely draped over the top. My Farmer delivered his Big Grill from the lake to the farm bright and early Sunday morning, all clean and ready for the caterers to use for preparing the wedding dinner although, we all know he would have been more than happy to help if needed.
Later in the day children could be found playing in the
sweet little church....
picture perfect!
What a lovely day and special place for a
storybook
Farm Wedding.
They really thought of everything!!! I especially love how they hung the jars of flowers on the hooks with tulle! Beautiful.
