Pumpkin Season is Almost Here

It is hard to believe that our pumpkins are just about ready for picking.

On August 6th they were still green with just a hint of orange.

That is a lot of change in a few weeks.

In only twenty days to be exact.

They had completely changed from green...

...to orange!

It is fun to have our own little pumpkin patch.

We sure won't have to go far to pick pumpkins this year!

The Dog Days of Summer

Bring heat so very hot

The sidewalks steam so scorching,

I could fry an egg without a pot.

The heat comes on so quickly

But will leave so very soon

And Fall will come with its cool, cold air

So enjoy this dog day afternoon!

Name Monster CrEaTuReS :: Symmetry ART

These cute monsters/creatures are so fun to make.

Our classroom learned how to make these creatures using our name as the outline.

It was as simple as…

1. folding a piece of paper in half

        2. writing your name on one side and

   3. cutting around all of the letters.

Next, open the paper and begin drawing a monster/creature. 

And that’s is all there is to it!

A Whale of a Time ---> drawing with Kids

Just popping in to share a few pictures I was asked to draw at school last spring.

The children were very specific about what they wanted and 

enjoyed drawing their own version along with me,

which was the best part!

A little more ice~cream and maybe some whale watching before the new school year starts!

PEACH~BLUEBERRY Cobblers :: for 2

The Peaches and Blueberries are ripe and ready for baking, freezing or snacking. 

Once again our blueberry bushes gave us a good crop so our freezer has been getting restocked the last several weeks and of course we are always picking a handful { or two! } to eat throughout the day.

But, no matter what, there are always enough...

...for baking something sweet.

These little individual cobblers are easy to grab when we are in need of a sweet treat. And, around here, that happens to be quite often.

They definitely are a nutritious snack picked right off the bushes

but, if we can wait long enough,

they make a perfect little dessert too!

YUM!!
