It is hard to believe apple season is already here. My folks delivered a bag full of Gravenstein Apples last week that they picked from their tree. They are the perfect apples for all sorts of delicious apple treats.
Some of the apples will be used to make Apple Dumplings which is a family favorite, however, those will have to wait until I have a little more time. Instead, I made a Rustic Apple Pie which goes together much faster.
It is basically an apple pie made without a pie plate and with only one crust.
It is quick and easy which is perfect for days when you are short on time. You could spruce it up with some nuts or raisins but I just kept it plain and simple this time.
