DIY Powder Room update

There comes a time when you get tired of a style that you used to love and you know it is time for an update, whether it be a menu, wardrobe or home interior. That was the case with our powder room.  A change was long overdue.
It was so cute in its day, however, we are updating some areas of  the house and the powder room really needed an update so…we added it to the list.
Since we were already in a mess with another bathroom, as well as some other parts of the house, we decided to do it. The first thing to go was the wallpaper. The hubs and I did not have the patience or time to remove it so he just replaced all the sheetrock instead. It was gone before I knew it.
We removed the vanity, which he custom built for the first bathroom makeover, and the toilet so that he would have more room to work.
The RED ceiling was so popular at one time but it had to go.
Slowly but surely things were taking shape.
We chose a brighter color this time and and decided to paint the ceiling the same color as the walls. We kept the light fixture, the mirror and of course the vanity he made. We have a new light switch and outlet covers to match the faucet and chandelier.
He also added paneling which is a new look for our house and a new solid panel door, to match all the other new doors, which still needs hardware.
It is beginning to come together. We are replacing the curtain I made that covered the window with a new shade but for now the paper is still up and we have changed the door from a stained hollow core to a solid wood paneled door painted white.
It won't be too much longer until it is finished. Window, door hardware and choosing a couple more fixtures. We can hardly wait.
Happy Saturday!
